About Richmond Hill
Richmond Hill sits in south-central York Region, running from Bloomington Road down to Highway 7 (just 4 kilometers north of Toronto's Steeles Avenue), and from Bathurst Street east to Highway 404. It stretches 14 kilometers north to south and 7 kilometers east to west, covering over 100 square kilometers. The city sits on the Oak Ridges Moraine: ancient kettle lakes, forests, and environmentally protected land that residents consider a gift.
Richmond Hill became a city in 2019 after decades as a town (incorporated 1957). But people have been here far longer. The downtown core along Yonge Street has heritage bones: 19th-century buildings, the Richmond Hill Heritage Centre in a Regency-style structure, and Mill Pond Park where families have gathered for generations. These days Mill Pond hosts summer concerts and winter ice skating. It's one of Richmond Hill's most scenic spots, with streets of mature trees and heritage homes mixing with modern construction.
The neighborhoods tell different stories. Bayview Hill is one of the GTA's most exclusive areas. Quiet, tree-shaded streets with sizable detached homes, cast iron street lamps, and properties built in the 1980s, 90s, and 2000s. Many homes have four or more bedrooms. Long driveways, professional landscaping, the kind of place where privacy matters. Mill Pond surrounds the park with historic character and family appeal. Oak Ridges and Lake Wilcox sit in the northern section, known for natural areas and kettle lakes left by glaciers. Jefferson offers detached houses, townhomes, and condominiums near Jefferson Forest and Richmond Green Sports Centre. East Beaver Creek, in the southeast corner, is a business and industrial district mixing corporate sectors with residential options.
Downtown Richmond Hill runs along Yonge Street north of Major Mackenzie Drive. It's going through a renaissance: new development, shops, restaurants, and the kind of energy that comes when a historic core gets modern investment. The David Dunlap Observatory is here too, home to Canada's largest telescope. Canadian figure skater Elvis Stojko grew up in Richmond Hill, and they named an arena after him.
Our Promise: Fresh. Local. On Time.
From our Maple location, Richmond Hill is 7 to 12 minutes away on a typical day. We take Major Mackenzie Drive straight east (it's the same road our shop sits on) running directly into Richmond Hill's northern section. For downtown destinations near Yonge Street, we continue east and drop south. For Oak Ridges and the northern neighborhoods, we stay on Major Mackenzie. For Bayview Hill and the southern areas, we take Yonge or Bathurst south.
During rush hour (7:30 to 9:30 AM, 4 to 6:30 PM), the Yonge Street corridor and Highway 404 interchanges add a few minutes. We plan around it.

About Jennifer's Flowers & Gifts
Carmen started this shop 18 years ago. These days she works mostly in the background, with her daughter helping during big occasions and a team she calls "so good." They handle everything from last-minute walk-ins to carefully planned celebrations.
Our 16x20 foot cooler (one of the biggest in the GTA) holds three rows of shelving packed with fresh flowers. We bring in at least 20 to 25 boxes every week, far more than most shops in the area. At any moment, you'll find 15 to 20 finished arrangements ready to go, plus buckets of fresh stems in every color.
Every day is different. Some days are slow until evening, when two or three families walk in needing funeral arrangements by morning. That's when the cooler and the team prove their worth. Being open seven days a week means we're there when life happens, planned or otherwise.
